 DESIGN PROFILE 

• Created winning design concepts for major brands and media companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Time Warner, Scholastic, Primedia, Fairchild, Bantam DoubleDay Dell, In Touch Weekly, Disney Adventures, Institutional Investor, Fortune, The Hollywood Museum, Estee Lauder, Avon, Bristol Myers, L’Oreal, The Body Shop, among many others.

• Managed design departments and teams of up to 10 people; set and guided creative direction, including directing illustrators and photographers to execute my conceptualizations; ensured quality control and strict adherence to schedules and deadlines.

• Directed and styled national photo shoots, including fashion, products and celebrities. 

• Diverse design portfolio incorporates product packaging, magazine/book cover design, advertorials, editorial pages, press/media kits, corporate identity, marketing collateral, presentations/proposals, signage, and branding. 

• Successfully interpret communication needs and translate them into compelling visual narratives; collaborate closely and effectively with multiple levels of an organization and outside vendors.

• Oversaw prepress/print production, quality control and color correction over all aspects of the designed projects.Thorough knowledge of compliance issues.

 

 PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS 

• Charter member of the design team for the successful launch of In Touch Weekly, which became a leading weekly entertainment publication; conceptualized visual features that “jumped” off the page and made the book distinctfrom the competition. Promoted twice in six years to the number two position of Deputy Art Director.

• Diversified the creative pool to include illustrators and photographers at Storm Design, a boutique package design& marketing  firm, allowing them to expand their client base; introduced measures that reduced the production costof each job by up to 50%.  

• Co-led a major design overhaul for The Walt Disney Company’s Disney Adventures Magazine, a national consumer monthly entertainment publication for kids with a circulation of over 1 million; redesign propelled the magazine past Nickelodeonto become number one in the category.  

• Delivered a more sophisticated visual identity for books and magazines at Scholastic, Inc., a leading global educationalmedia company.

• Managed design, and did a major refresh, for this leading trade publication of the travel industry, published by Fairchild.

• Designed hundreds of covers and jackets for major trade and mass market book titles at Bantam Doubleday Dell.
